THE CORO CENTER FOR CIVIC LEADERSHIP AWARDS
Coro challenges people to evolve, both personally and professionally, into individuals who have the tools to change their environment for the better. Coro does not create leaders, but rather brings out the leader in the person and equips them with the tools they need to transform the world around them.
Coro began operating in Pittsburgh in August 1999 with the Launch of our flagship Fellows Program in Public Affairs, a post-graduate, nine month educational experience with intensive hands-on training in civic leadership. In addition to the Fellows Program, Coro offers a wide range of full-time and part-time experiential learning opportunities for individuals who want to explore in-depth the key issues facing our region and to advance teamwork toward goals that make a difference on those issues.
Mission
Our Mission is to advance ethical and effective leaders who share a commitment to civic engagement. We are building a leadership pipeline to foster collaboration within and across Pittsburgh's business, nonprofit, and government sectors.
Vision
We envision an inclusive democracy in which people of different backgrounds, views, and sectors engage in their communities and work together constructively to improve the quality of life for all.
